Sanjaya Dutta

Sanjaya Dutt, a veteran bollywood actor, is found guilty of possessing illegal arms in 1992-93 serial bomb blasts case and charged for 5 year jail. Sanjaya Dutt had badly wanted AK-56 rifle in 1193 in order to protect his family from Mumbai riots. He then got it from the person involved in underworld. Crime Branch of India noticed it and made an further inquiry in investigation. Sanjaya Dutt also agreed that he had kept AK-56 rifle but he also said that serial bomb blasts had nothing to do with it.

Advocates like Satish Maneshinde, Rizwan Merchant and other defended him in court since then. At that time he had also gone to jail for 18 months in the same case. Again the case reopened last months and is convicted for the same case and sentenced to jail for 5 years. But as he had already spent in jail for 18 months, this time he will be spending rest 42 months in jail as ordered by Supreme Court of India.
